Medium- and Low-handicap finals set at Santa María

Copa de Plata challengers prepare for Saturday/Sunday's action

Following a rest day, the 41st Torneo Internacional BMW de Polo carried on this Thursday (August 16th) at the Santa María Polo Club, with the medium- and low-handicap finalists of the Copa de Plata emerging.

During the morning, the low-handicap semi-finals were played. The first match went into OT, with Gabriel Gómez scoring the winning goal for the El Castañar team , against Silex, for the 9-8 result. El Fortín just managed to defeat Capial, 12-11. All of which means that El Castañar will be facing El Fortín in this Sunday's final for low-handicap honours.

Shortly after midday, the semi finals of the medium-handicap Copa de Plata went ahead. Seven Sevens defeated Bayswater London Gin 13-8, after which Santa Quiteria defeated Sapphire/Esperanza 14-11. So Seven Sevens will now be facing Santa Quiteria in the medium-handicap final this Saturday.

Prior to these matches, there will be the second round matches of the high-handicap Copa de Oro, on Friday 17th. Recent Copa de Plata winners Ayala Polo Team will be playing against Dos Lunas, while Las Monjitas will be facing Kaptive Leones, and Lechuza Caracas will be taking on HB Polo Team.
