Medium-handicap action at Santa María Polo Club

Second round of Copa de Plata; High-handicap decider next

The medium-handicap Copa de Plata division had the day to itself in what refers to the 41st Torneo Internacional BMW de Polo, which is taking place at Spain's Santa María Polo Club.

Three matches were played in this, the second round corresponding to this division. Santa Quiteria overwhelmed La Indiana 14-7, Marqués de Riscal also managed a comfortable, 11-7 win against Woodchester-Los Leones, and in the last match of the day, Sapphire/Esperanza needed an extra chukker to defeat Seven Sevens, 10-9.

Coming up next Monday (August 13th) are three more medium-handicap matches: Seven Sevens vs. Marqués de Riscal, Woodchester-Los Dragones vs. Sapphire/Esperanza, and Bayswater London Gin/John Smith vs. La Indiana, from where the division’s two finalists will emerge.

Prior to that, on Saturday 11th, another of the finals (the high-handicap Copa de Plata Hublot one) of the Torneo Internacional will be played. As from 7 p.m. (CET) on the main field of the Los Pinos grounds, Ayala (with Lucas James and Ignatius Du Plessis at the helm) will be facing Lechuza Caracas, with Juan Martín Nero and Alejo Taranco heading the team.

Also this Saturday, there will be low-handicap Copa de Plata action at the Santa María Polo Club: Silex vs. Capial, El Castañar vs. Indios Charrúa, and Bisontes vs. El Fortín.
