Coronation Cup goes England's way once more

The Guards Polo Club.

The team representing England won the Coronation Cup for the third consecutive time, with a 9-8 win against South Africa this year.

The Coronation Cup is a long-standing tournament in which national teams take part, with hosts England playing against another nation, at the Guards Polo Club.

This year, the home team's line-up was as follows: Luke and Mark Tomlinson, James Beim and Malcolm Borwick. Sputh Africa lined up with Chris Mackenzie, Jean and Ignatius du Plessis, and Stuart Erskine.

These two teams had faced each other back in 1994, when England also won the event.

Prior to the main clash, there was a match for youngsters of the Guards Polo Club, with Howtospendit.com Hurlingham defeating Audi Prince of Wales 6-3 1/2.
