The Federation of International Polo just confirmed to LivingPolo.com that the prestigious Santa María Polo Club in Spain will be the host of the 9th European Polo Championship.

This 6-8 goal tournament was originally set to take place in the German city of Hannover, at the Hannover Polo Club.

Santa María Polo Club at Sotogrande finally won the privilege to host the bi-annual continental event over the other candidates, Italy and Vienna, in Austria.

The opening day will be September 6th, and the tournament will last until September 16th.
