2012 Queen's Cup begins

Reigning champions Talandracas lose on first outing. Success for Aravali and El Remanso

The 2012 edition of The Cartier Queen's Cup got off to a start on Tuesday, May 22nd at the Guards Polo Club. This is the 52nd edition of the event, with sixteen teams with handicaps of up to 22 goals taking part, and with some of the world's leading players in the teams' line-ups.

The opening match was between El Remanso (with David Stirling and Guillermo Terrera in its line-up) and Zacara (with Hilario Ulloa) and Ingatius de Plessis). El Remanso were the winners, 10-7.

In the day's remaining match, Aravali (with Eduardo Novillo Astrada and Marcos di Paola) defeated reigning champions Talandracas (Lucas Monteverde and Milo Fernández Araujo), 12-9.

There is one match scheduled for Wednesday, May 23rd in this, Great Britain's leading polo tournament: Les Lions vs. Belmont Farm.
